boatIQ
Terms of service

The terms, in plain English.

Plain-English summary. The formal terms are being finalised with counsel.

What a boatIQ report is

An information-analysis document compiled from publicly available sources — the vessel's listing, published marine technical literature, owner-community knowledge and manufacturer documentation — produced without any physical inspection of the vessel. It is not, and must not be relied upon as: a marine survey or condition report; a statement of seaworthiness or fitness for purpose; a formal appraisal; or legal or financial advice.

Accuracy limits

The report is based primarily on the seller's listing, which we do not independently verify. Listing data may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated or misleading — part of the report's job is to flag exactly that risk. Fair-market-value ranges are analytical estimates built from comparable market data, not guarantees of any transaction price.

Before you buy any boat

Commission a full condition and valuation survey by a qualified independent marine surveyor (SAMS/NAMS-accredited in the US, or equivalent), and obtain independent legal advice on title, liens, registration and tax/VAT. A boatIQ report prepares that process; it never replaces it.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, boatIQ and its operators are not liable for losses arising from reliance on the report or from any decision to buy, sell, or walk away from a vessel. The report informs your judgment; it doesn't replace it.

Refunds

See our refund policy — short version: non-refundable once unlocked, with one honest exception.
